Welcome! Resting secluded on the edge of a tranquil river valley in southern Normandy, La Plissonnais is an eight-bedroom traditional stone-built 17th century farmhouse, with all the amenities expected of the 21st century, and 2018 marks our 25th year of operation!
Offering eight bedrooms, six of which are fully ensuite, and sleeping a total of 20 in comfort, or up to 26 using sofa beds, La Plissonnais is let as a self-catering ‘gite’ all year round. We let on a weekly basis (Saturday-Saturday) from 26th May to 15th September inclusive, and on a nightly basis at all other times, with a two-night minimum.
Surrounded by woodland and pastures and perched right on the side of a hill in Normandy’s famous dairy country, the farmhouse is situated down a long secluded drive and set in an acre and a half of its own grounds. There is a heated outdoor pool, barbecue area and huge lawn perfect for children to safely play in.
Overlooking the valley of the river Airon, La Plissonnais is situated a mile outside the village of Les Loges-Marchis, in the Department of Manche (Normandy), three miles south of Saint Hilaire du Harcouët and just a mile from the D977 road to the beautiful ancient city, and castle, of Fougères.
Mont St. Michel, and the unspoilt beaches of the Normandy coast are less than 45 minutes away, and the ferry ports of Caen, Cherbourg, St.Malo and Le Havre, and airports at Dinard and Rennes, are all within easy reach. We are often a base for tours of the nearby D-Day beaches (around 90 minutes’ drive), and are only minutes away from Mortain (the scene of a famous counter-offensive after D-Day) and the second largest American military cemetery at Saint James.
